About Bastion
Two principals. Two practices. Every engagement led by the person whose name is on the door.
The firm
Nick and Jessica Ashley founded Bastion Policy Partners in 2019. The premise was simple: when the cost of a wrong decision is regulatory, operational, or human, you need frameworks built for that environment.
Bastion has two principals and no associates. You work with Nick or Jessica directly, not through an account team that briefs them after the fact.
Two practices. One methodology.
Bastion runs two practices: cyber and technology risk, and maternal and child health policy. Both fields put organisations in the same position: making a call when the information is incomplete, the regulatory exposure is real, and the cost of getting it wrong falls on people, not just balance sheets.
The approach came out of 24 years of adversarial operations, critical infrastructure, national security, and policy advisory work. Nick and Jessica Ashley built it for their own environments before they built Bastion around it.
Why both practices in one firm
The cyber and health policy practices serve different clients, different regulatory landscapes, and different buyer communities. Each practice page on this site is designed to be evaluated independently by its intended audience.
Nick and Jessica Ashley are the founding partners of both. The shared standard: an engagement should produce a decision, not a report.
